Yeovil Athletics Track Under Construction24th July 2002 The 8 lane track at Yeovil which has held two previous English Schools Championships is being re-laid and the field events are being relocated giving extra safety and more flexibility for meeting organisers. The previous porous surface was very soft and is being replaced by a new porous surface which will be to IAAF standards. On stripping the old surface, a base was revealed which was inconsistent in quality and texture and to poor tolerance. This had to be planed with a new macadam wearing course laid to current construction standards. |
