Bob Scrivener Makes Ipswich Debut

6th May 2003

At the age of ** (note only two stars!) Bob Scrivener ran out at Portman Road in the treasured blue and white team strip on April 28th.

Having supported his home team since a stool was needed to see over the wall, the Football Aid Charity appearance was a dream come true.

A small crowd, largely consisting of family and friends, provided vocal support (supposedly) but the difference between that and barracking was hard to distinguish.

The Ipswich team was captained by the legendary John Wark, who took the team for the warm up and provided on pitch guidance against the Ipswich away team captained by Simon Milton.

John Wark, who has FA and UEFA cup winners medals from his Ipswich days.. He appeared in “Escape to Victory” with such stars as Pelé and Bobby Moore. When asked if appearing with Bob Scrivener was one of the highlights of his career he commented “Bob who???”
